QHSSE Internal Auditor
Wilhelmsen Ships Service is looking for a QHSSE Internal Auditor. In this new position, you will be responsible for objectively reviewing whether the internal control processes are functioning effectively. As a new addition to the global QHSSE team, you will be able to respond to the need of the business and will create value for this new role.

Supplying marine consumables, products, and solutions to every conceivable vessel type, our Marine Products division includes the Unitor brand of products, Timm ropes, Unicool refrigerants, and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals. Last year we made product deliveries to 27,500 vessels, at over 2,000 ports.
What you will be doing:
In this new position, you will be essentially responsible for the execution and quality of internal audits. You will conduct various audits as they are currently defined and make recommendations on these for any shortcomings or flaws. You will follow up on the implementation of these recommendations yourself. Consider, among other things, risk management activities and ethics and inappropriate behavior within the organization. In addition, you will conduct ad hoc investigations of identified or reported risks. You will also support in the implementation of the global QHSSE plan and related activities.
In this role, you will report to the Global QHSSE Director and join a team of 5 Area QHSSE & Compliance managers and three local QHSSE managers spread across the globe. You will be working from our office in Rotterdam and you also need to travel to our other offices as well. You also have the opportunity to work partly from home
Who you are:
We are looking for someone who can solve problems through an analytical and structured approach and communicate this to all levels within the organization. Logically, you are process and result-oriented. In addition, you have assertiveness; you are confident during the audit process and in control of the agenda. You enjoy working alone but are also a real team player with enough professional credibility. It is a bonus if you have knowledge of supply chain, dangerous goods and/or hazardous goods.
Required experience and skills:
- Higher professional education or equivalent experience/education combination
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient and certified Internal Auditor
- Good command of the English language in word and writing
- You have proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Prior experience in working with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 standards in related functions;
