QA Automation Engineer

As a QA Automation Engineer, responsible for validating and trying to break our API’s and workflows in order to make them better and more robust, and will take ownership of the quality of the software we produce. This involves manually testing as well as writing complex integration tests involving several microservices. Experience with Selenium and a variety of testing frameworks is desired.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Building out automation infrastructure
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scriptsIdentify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

We’re Looking For Someone With

  • Experience working with and alongside a development team within an Agile environment, and a penchant for breaking things and unorthodox thinking
  • A deep-level understanding of Software Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Experience in API Automation using Javascript preferably (SQL, C#, Ruby, Python, Java)Experience in exploratory testing
  • An understanding of Open Source automation tools and frameworks, Cypress would be preferable, Selenium, Cucumber also fine
  • Experience using Continuous Integration tools (Hudson, Jenkins, etc.), version control solutions (GIT, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience with JIRA – Defect Management and reporting
  • An interest to work in Continuous Delivery / Integration
