Reports To: Line Manager is the Protection Coordinator and dotted Line Manager is the Senior Feminist Peace Project Coordinator. Location: Homebased (including any Yemenis inside or outside Yemen). Duration of Contract: Open. Type of Contract: Employment contract. Salary: Level A-2.

Right-holders: Yemeni women human rights defenders inside and outside Yemen.

Job Summary: The Peace Track Initiative (PTI) is seeking to recruit a Psychosocial and Case Management Officer (PCM) who will work to strengthen the PTI protection programme and support our team and partners. The PCM officer is the main lead for providing psychosocial support to our team and right holders, as well as, is responsible to document cases of women human rights defenders and peacebuilders seeking protection interventions.

Job Duties:

  • Lead on survivor-centered case management for WHRDs our right holders, seeking protection services. This will include proper case documentation, counseling, and referral including individual support to right holders in filling applications or sending emails to external services.
  • Develop a psychosocial support protocol based on an assessment to the needs of PTI and our rights holders, accordingly, develop well-being materials, and provide timely and effective psychosocial support, including capacity building in mental health coping mechanisms and stress management.
  • Support the development of PTI standard of operation for sexual and gender-based violence case management and the mapping of referral protection services ensuring regular updates.
  • Support in developing reports summarising information received in terms of numbers of cases, types of violations, perpetrators, …etc that can be used in advocacy and influencing efforts and contribute to drafting statements for international and national accountability mechanisms.
  • Contribute to drafting project proposals to ensure that the needs of our right holders, specifically those benefiting from our protection programme and psychosocial support is reflected.
  • Train PTI team and right holders on PTI safeguarding policy and code of conduct, ensuring refreshers at least once a year, and propose changes or updates to the policy as needed.
  • Complete any courses required to perform the tasks including SGBV case management training, protection principles training,…etc.
  • Knowledge of developing tools that help memory stimulation and increase the level of concentration and time management.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of information-sensitive materials, produce regular status reports to line manager, and develop narrative and financial reports for protection cases supported as per PTI and donors policies.
  • Any other relevant tasks as agreed with the line manager.

Education and Qualification

  • Education – at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counselling, Clinical Psychology, or any other relevant field.
  • Experience – 2-5 years, in social work, case management, and/or psychosocial support services.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a politically sensitive environment and exercise discretion, impartiality, and neutrality.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision and to meet quality results in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit.
  • Positive and professional attitude, including the ability to lead and work well in a team setting.
  • Competencies in teamwork, respecting diversity, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including computer literacy.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Strong computer skills: must be competent in the use of Windows, MS office programs (Word, Excel), email programs, and some other applications.

Language Requirements: Excellent written and oral English and Arabic Language skills.
