General Description of the Organization:

Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Nonprofit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people through fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.

Job Purpose:

GAN is currently seeking the expertise of PSS facilitators to conduct psychosocial support interventions with children and their caregivers and ensure a child-friendly environment.

PSS facilitators will work in close coordination with the team leader and PSS Officer. staff are expected to establish a good rapport with children and caregivers, the facilitators will be responsible for implementing the PSS and Awareness sessions according to plans.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the psychological, physical safety and security of children.
  • Providing a suitable environment for PSS sessions
  • Preparing the supplies and needs for each PSS session.
  • Contribute to the development of plans for the conduct of the sessions.
  • Implementation of PSS and Awareness sessions for children and caregivers.
  • Preparing monthly reports on the implementation process, challenges, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Refer children in need of further support to an internal referral focal point.
  • Keeps the archive of children’s forms containing all the information regarding children’s placement and follow-up tests, media consent, participation forms, and other information related to the project activities.
  • Conduct pre-post-tests.
  • Supports GAN staff and more specifically CP team in carrying out regular activities.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and other coordination meetings if needed.
  • Observe body language and track absenteeism.
  • Ensures adherence to GAN rules and regulations with special attention to PSEA and child safeguarding measures.
  • Performing any other tasks requested by the direct manager in connection with work.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • University qualification, preferably from the College of Education or other related colleges.
  • Required technical qualifications:
  • Practical experience of not less than two years in providing psychosocial support activities.
  • Strong experience in implementing recreational activities for children (theatre, games, sports, storytelling, drawing, artistic activities…).
  • Proficiency in writing management reports.
  • knowledge of the laws of humanitarian action and principles of protection.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office computer programs.
  • Good level of dealing with e-mail.
  • Effective communication skills and dealing with children.
  • Session facilitation skills.
  • Working within a team.
