Terms of Reference

  • General Background

UNHCR Korea started its Private Sector Partnerships Services (PSP) in 2009 and since its launch, the program has grown significantly in terms of donor base as well as fundraising income.

The number of active regular giving donors of UNHCR Korea has exceeded 220,000 and it became more important to build a robust and long-lasting relationship with the donors to contribute toward supporting the refugee cause. In order to provide satisfactory experiences to donors and maximize their lifetime value, UNHCR Korea aims to recruit a staff responsible for assisting the managing the donor retention program.

  • Purpose and Scope of Assignment

Under the supervision of Associate PSP IG Officer, the individual contractor will assist the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing current donor retention program and making a test plan to optimize donor journey;
  • Create donor communication message to be used in e-mail, text message and direct mail;
  • Research donor communication materials (i.e. story, photo, video, etc.) and translate them into Korean;
  • Send out donor communication messages and materials to donors according to each donor journey and segment;
  • Assist in various communication with external vendors working on donor retention tasks and process necessary administrative work including procurement and payment;
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from donors professionally;
  • Perform necessary administrative work required for donor retention and development; and
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Monitoring and Progress Controls

The individual contractor will work for the UNHCR Office under the direct supervision of the Associate PSP IG Officer.

The individual contractor will perform duty in a combination of office and flexible working environment in line with UNHCR Korea’s guidelines.

  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Education
  • University degree in preferably Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related fields.

(Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience with high school diploma)

  • Work Experience
  • Relevant working experience in marketing, communication, and/or fundraising is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience with High School diploma; or 0 year of experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher
  • Key Competencies
  • Experience in fundraising or donor communication;
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills;
  • Knowledge of specific software including Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere);
  • Fluency in Korean and English (both written and spoken)
