Our International Programme Division is currently recruiting for the position of Provincial Project Coordinator for the Afghanistan office. The Provincial Project Coordinator will have an overall planning, implementation and management of IR Afghanistan’s interventions of a UNDP funded Project to improve basic Services for vulnerable communities in one province. S/he will develop and manage required work plans for the projects and enforce adherence of all to the plan and subsequently approved amendments. The job holder will significantly assist the project teams in developing, documenting and maintaining sound project resources management plans, manage the project budget, including project procurement management, and ensure avoidance of over/under expenditure by ensuring judicious expending of the project funds and demonstrate value for money in the outcomes and impact of the project.

Key responsibilities

· Manage project risks, funding, and ensure keeping all concerned are accurately and promptly informed about the status of project

· Lead the projects’ teams develop their knowledge and skills of appropriate nature to the project/s

· Support the MEAL team and project staff in maintaining projects’ monitoring, evaluation and accountability tools

· Develop and maintain project reporting protocols, both narrative and financial, and ensure accurate and prompt reporting to all concerned (IRW, donor, and other project stakeholders

· Work closely with Supply Chain and Finance teams at both finance officer levels in developing supplies, service and works request for quotations (RfQs)/bidding documents as well as contracts in line with IR Afghanistan procedures and requirements. Ensure efficient and effective purchase order and contract management

· Coordinate and network with other stakeholders to promote appropriate humanitarian and development programming within the framework of IR’s policies. This includes attending and engaging with relevant coordination meetings.

· Design, manage, analyze and communicate required information across the programme team.

· Identify and assess the capacity needs of the national staff, partners and counterparts involved in the programme, plan and implement capacity building activities.

The successful candidate must have:

· Post graduate degree in development, social science or any relevant field.

· Substantial Project management experience in developing countries and/or countries in transition / conflict

· Progressive experience in integrated projects management.

· Experience in managing programme/project funded by institutional donors (DFID, EU,UN etc) and IR partners.

· Work experience in culturally diverse contexts
