Working Under The Program Manager, The Provider Payments Specialist Will Review And Validate Information On Monthly Attendance Sheets To Calculate Provider Reimbursement For All CalWORKs And Subsidy Programs Following Federal And State Regulations. What You’ll Be Doing
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relating to child care provider reimbursement
- Verify related documents for completeness and compliance with government regulations and Agency policy
- Process monthly attendance sheets to accurately calculate child care provider reimbursement
- Troubleshoots issues to ensure provider reimbursement are completed and meet all timelines
- Attend all department and agency-wide staff meetings and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
What You Should Bring
- Two years or more completed of college courses in accounting, business, or related field
- Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required
- Ability to use 10-key by touch
- Demonstrated analytical and general math abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated organizational skills with experience in prioritizing tasks
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- College degree in accounting, business, or related field
- Experience in child care subsidy programs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended amounts of time
- Ability to stand for extended amounts of time
- Manual dexterity to use a telephone and computer
- Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone
- Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations and over the telephone
- Physical agility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and to bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead
- Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist and turn
- Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an accurate and timely fashion; to make good judgments and decisions; and to evaluate the results of decisions and judgments
Please note: This role is not eligible for fully remote work, and requires 3-4 days minimum in the office.
