Protection Project Manager

Purpose of the Job:

To be responsible for all project implementation steps and their technical aspects based on the work plan, including the preparation, planning, organization, coordination, and relations with related UN clusters, donors, LCs, NGOs, INGOs, and all potential stakeholders in addition to supporting departments. Furthermore, he/she will be a line manager for HQ project officers and present Amal Organization in the available clusters, platforms, and donors as well as ensure documentation of all activities in the project.

Main responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor and supervise the project activities in order to meet its objectives.
• Supervision of project’s implementation and commit to the work plan, budget, and logical frame.
• Reporting of the project activities to the line manager and donor.
• Preparing necessary project documentation structure, monitoring project activities, and preparing monthly and ad-hoc narrative reports with high quality as well as technical reports.
• Leading the project staff in HQ and field and providing technical support for the staff to ensure capacity building during the project life.
• Providing technical support for the program manager and the supporting departments to develop the specification and BoQs for any needed goods to be procured.
• Ensure projects technical implementation with high quality while conducting graveling, asphalting, camps rehabilitation, and infrastructure rehabilitation.
• Actively communicate and present Amal Organization with counterpart donors during meetings, related UN cluster meetings, and any other ad-hoc meeting. Additionally, prepare presentations where possible and present them on the available platforms.
• Ensure high quality of managing the budget and other administrative points based on Amal’s policies.

About the applicant

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES

Essential

• 2-3 years of demonstrable experience in Protection project management in NGOs and/or INGOs
• Education to MBA/MSc/ level or equivalent field experience.
• Full professional proficiency in English, Arabic, and/or Turkish is a strong asset.
• Inter-personal skills to influence and guide staff and partners in identifying programming opportunities and resolving program challenges.
• Commitment to the values and mission of Amal Organization.
• Demonstrated skills in program planning, and all aspects of project management.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership and supervision of staff and in building and maintaining a high-performing team.
• Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
• Ability to adapt to different, often stressful circumstances.
• Ability to write a clear and well-argued assessment and project reports.
• Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
• Experience in promoting children’s rights and gender, including participation in programming, design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Turkish Nationality is required.

Desired

• Experience and knowledge of Protection projects
• Experience in designing and managing projects with international donors
• Demonstrable experience engaging with national stakeholders and partners
• Demonstrable experience in building the capacity of local NGOs, and government bodies and collaborating closely with multi-level stakeholders.
