Responsibilities

Under the direction of the TK response Coordinator, the incumbent will be in charge of ensuring the implementation of SARD protection response to the emergency earthquake, and support the operationalisation of the broader emergency response in Adiyamane.

Job Purpose:

The main tasks will be:

TECHNICAL TASKS

  1. Be the main responsible for the protection activities provided through the project, and responsible for strict confidentiality regarding information and data of beneficiaries at all times.
  2. Ensure child participation is mainstreamed, and that a child centered approach is always applied, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and at-risk children and children with disabilities.
  3. Provide on the job training, mentorship, coaching and guidance to the Protection Assistant.
  4. Is actively involved in implementing protection activities with the Assistant.
  5. Ensure Child Protection Minimum Standards are mainstreamed into all activities.
  6. Prepare and ensure implementation of weekly and monthly plans with clear objectives.
  7. Perform additional tasks as required.

GENERAL TASKS TURKEY RESPONSE

  1. Provide overall support to the TK response Coordinator, contributing to operational plans and implementation of operational tasks.
  2. Manage the flow of information through coherent communication and information-sharing.
  3. Be in charge of coordinating with a variety of international, national and local stakeholders.
  4. Compile and analyse data on the humanitarian and political situation in the area of operations.
  5. Work on a grant strategy and participate in fund raising.
  6. Develop protection sections for weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BA in Psychology, IHL/Protection, International Relations.
  • Proven experience in the protection and child protection sector and in operations and team management.
  • In-depth understanding of the root causes of child protection concerns, related international standards, and child protection prevention and response strategies.
  • Solid prioritization skills and ability to be flexible and work well under pression.
  • Perfect knowledge of Safeguarding, and professional and personal integrity.
  • Experience working in difficult locations; ability to be resourceful and flexible in a limited resource environment.
  • Ability to mainstream gender in all aspects of tasks and activity.
  • Excellent social and negotiation skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders (central and local authorities, I-NGOs, UN agencies, etc…).
  • Proactivity in researching and identifying funding sources.
  • Ability to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Fluency in Turkish. Kurdish and English a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
