NRC is looking for a Protection Adviser to join the Afghanistan mission. The role holder will provide support to the Protection Unit across Afghanistan and assist with implement protection activities.

If you are an action-oriented, execution-driven, and hands-on executive, with great coordination and negotiation skills, then this is the role for you!

What You Will Do

  • Protection strategy development.
  • Tools, guidelines, and procedures development and contextualisation.
  • Protection project implementation (activities, budgets, and documentation).
  • Self-protection and case management development.
  • Proposal design, implementation, and adaptation support.
  • Capacity building, training, and mentoring of protection teams.

What You Will Bring

  • Humanitarian/recovery context experience.
  • Protection project implementation experience.
  • Humanitarian responses architecture knowledge.
  • Human rights and protection knowledge.
  • Afghanistan context experience and knowledge.
  • Humanitarian interventions in Afghanistan exposure.
  • High risk, insecure, opaque, complex, and volatile context exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What We Offer

  • Kabul, Afghanistan duty station.
  • 12-months contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding and need).
  • 70% travel, approximately.
  • Grade 8 in NRC’s Salary Scale. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
