Purpose of the role
The purpose of the Prospect Researcher role is to provide strategically aligned prospect research to enable the Philanthropy & Partnerships team to maximise its engagement with donors and prospects effectively. The team focuses on fundraising from high net worth individuals, charitable trusts and foundations, and companies. This role will identify opportunities and links, plus deliver a robust and dynamic pipeline of prospects and high quality research, while providing key donor insight on how to approach and develop new business opportunities.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic researcher to join us for one year. This maternity cover role will support a well-established, friendly team of Major Donor, Trusts/Foundations and Corporate fundraisers. This is an exciting time when you will be integral to developing our portfolio of prospects and donors. Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Complete insightful research and provide donor account managers with information of prospective and current donors
- Expand and refresh the prospect pool and identify new prospects to target
- Complete insightful research and provide the team with information on the funding and landscape
- Maintain the Moves Management System and Implement the Research Prospecting Strategy
Skills and Experience required
You will have experience as a Prospect Researcher in a professional fundraising capacity. You will provide accurate research around donors, prospects and trends, have experience of moves management/prospect pipelines, and have a high level of competency in maintaining a variety of processes and systems including fundraising databases and Microsoft Office. Acting as a compliance champion for the team, knowledge of current data protection legislation and how this impacts research is essential.
