Proposal writing and Communication Intern/ Volunteer

Intern Purpose:

The intern will support LWF Jordan in two major areas: 1) Proposal writing for different donors, and 2) communications. The intern will closely work with the PMER officer, the Program Manager, and the Country Representative. The position is based in Amman, with visits to Zarqa, Irbid and Zaatari, or it can also be conducted remotely. The internship has flexible working hours, but minimum 3 days per week. Minimum duration: 3 months. Start date: as soon as possible.

His/her main duties shall include the following:

For proposal writing:

· Checking eligibility before applying to calls.

· Understanding the elements of a good funding proposal (including strategies for writing winning proposals).

· Meeting due diligence requirements.

· Elaborate proposals according to guidelines.

· Collaborate and write consortia/joint proposals.

· Support in research and context analyses.

· Support in proofreading reports.

Communications:

· Improve, update and maintain LWF Jordan Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

· Maintain effective filing/archiving of communication materials (including a photo and video archive).

· Prepare, collect, and collate successful stories, case studies, features and document of the projects using social media, photography and video.

· Coordinate with teams to collect / create quotes, testimonials, pictures etc. for reporting and visibility purposes.

· Ensure that communications material meet the agreed & basic standards and follows the LWF protocols & policies.

· Develop and standardize visual identities for internal use such logo, banners, stickers, power point presentation, posters, etc.

Qualifications and experience

· Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Communications, International Relations or other related fields.

· Experience in resource mobilization, project design, proposal writing, fundraising, or communications.

· Excellent writing skills.

· Excellent English. Arabic is an asset.

· Ability to develop compelling stories with superior written, oral and visual communications skills.

· Knowledge of humanitarian and development sector.

· Understanding and demonstrable commitment towards LWF principles.

· Great team player.
