Proposal Engineer

Will you the backbone of our Commercial team? As a Proposal Engineer your primary responsibility is be the centerpiece of the team and helping the business developers in giving effective answers to proposal requests. You will co-ordinate the proposal content with a variety of stakeholders within the company. Working as a Proposal Engineer, you will be creating professional proposals for a range of NAUTIS products. Beside your day-to-day proposal-related tasks, you are responsible for assisting the business development team with tender projects and other administrative tasks. You will report directly to the Commercial Director and together you will define the best approach for scoping our solutions to the end-users.

As a Proposal Engineer, you are responsible for:

  • Reviewing enquiries and requests for quotations (RFQ) from existing and prospective customers in coordination with the business development team;
  • Determining the possible options to be covered in the proposal, coordinating the supply of necessary information, and defining the scope of work and commercial proposal;
  • Collaborating with the Business Development, Product Management, and Operations departments as appropriate to evaluate potential project risks;
  • Prepare RFQ’s for end-users/partners based on the supplied specifications;
  • Support the Business Development Team with tender projects;
  • Monitor progress and status of Proposals, maintaining accurate records and keeping the Business Development Team informed at all times about the progress;
  • Creating, updating and maintaining customer portfolios on SharePoint;
  • The final check on the quality and completeness of the proposal documentation before submitting to the Business Developers;
  • Coordinate and manage the Commercial KPI’s defined together with the commercial director and report on these KPI’s.

 

IS THIS YOU?

You have: 

  • Experience with sales and an affinity with maritime industry. Experience in the maritime and/or simulation industry is seen as a plus;
  • The ability to quickly understand Technical and Commercial requirements;
  • A flexible work attitude;
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines;
  • An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude;
  • An HBO+ degree (any discipline), sales/marketing related is a plus;
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to translate customers’ needs to a solution;
  • Excellent skills in MS Office;
  • Minimal 2 years of experience in a proposal/tendering role;
  • A Dutch working permit;
  • Professional fluency in English. Additional language such as Dutch is a plus.
