The Climate and Health initiative is a cross-collaboration of the centres for Health and Healthcare and Nature and Climate, thereby leveraging each Centre’s partners, initiatives and ongoing work. The objective of the Climate and Health initiative is to create an active community of multistakeholder and cross-industry partners to shape models of high impact solutions on topical areas in the nexus of climate and health.
Why are we recruiting
The Climate and Health team are looking for a positive, action orientated project specialist for effective curation and management of the working groups which form part of the governance structure of the initiative. Led by the steering committee, the Working Groups will bring multistakeholder and cross industry experts together to address opportunities and identify gaps in activities linked to climate adaptation and mitigation affecting health. Each WG will have a chairperson leading the coordination and deliverables for specific thematic areas in climate and health. The working groups will ensure that high visibility and awareness of the initiative is maintained and communicated.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Climate and Health Project Specialist will be based at the World Economic Forum’s Geneva office, within the Climate and Health Initiative team, within the Centre for Nature and Climate. The Climate and Health Project Specialist will be reporting to the Climate and Health Lead.
Internally, this person will work with colleagues from the Climate and Health team in the Centre for Health and Healthcare (which co-leads the initiative, as well as colleagues from the broader Centre for Nature and Climate to ensure a coordinated and streamlined approach across relevant initiatives.
Main responsibilities
- Align and find synergies across relevant projects and initiatives at the Forum, including within the Centre for Nature and Climate (GAEA, Alliance for Clean Air, Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders), the Centre for Health and Healthcare (Global Health Equity Network), and others.
- Research, assess and identify potential partners across various industries for the Climate and Health initiative.
- Lead the development of public engagement materials for the initiative, including informative documentation (presentations, 2-pagers).
- Support event planning for relevant initiative meetings, as well as external workshops and partner meetings.
- Support Climate and Health Leads with project and community management (for example, managing membership lists and contacts in Salesforce, updating membership records, and liaising with Partner Engagement Managers).
- Support the development of a monitoring and tracking process to evaluate impact

Preferred requirements and experience
- Advanced university degree in healthcare industry, public health, climate and project management or other relevant fields.
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in project/program management or related work, with climate and health focus.
- Demonstrated experience working within multi-stakeholder processes and public-private partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability and confident in communicating with senior leaders across the public and private sectors.
- Excellent project and event management, and organizational skills
- Ability to successfully manage competing priorities, with shifting parameters, to deliver to the highest standards and to agreed deadlines.
- Team player with the ability to build strong relationships and networks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, other languages are an asset.
- Excellent cross-cultural verbal and written communication skills.
