JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Project Senior Officer.

Project / Department Title: ERL Program.

Direct supervisor / Reports to: ERL Project Manager.

Job Purpose:

The project Senior Officer is responsible for overseeing all project implementation steps and their technical aspects based on the work plan, including the preparation, planning, organization, coordination with team and all potential stakeholders in addition to support departments. He/she will ensure and support implementation of the vulnerability assessment framework, BNFs selection and planning of project, liaising with local authorities and community representatives, payment transfer. He/she is daily interacting and leading the field teams for implementation, coordinates with M&E, Finance, Logistic and Accountability and Security department. Furthermore, he will be a line manager for field agriculture project officer as well as ensure documentation of all activities in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor and supervise the integrated project activities especially agricultural activities in order to meet its objectives.
  • Supervision of project’s implementation and commit to the work plan, budget, and logical loge frame.
  • Reporting of the project activities to the line manager.
  • Ensuring the project documentation, monitoring project activities and preparing monthly and ad-hoc narrative reports with high quality as well as technical reports.
  • Leading the field project staff and providing technical support for the staff to ensure the capacity building during the project life.
  • Providing technical support and reviewing agriculture aspects for the program manager and the supporting departments to develop the specification and BoQs for any needed goods to be procured.
  • Ensure projects technical implementation with high quality while conducting agricultural activities.
  • Developing training manual and identify the trainers for agriculture-related training including, land preparation & soil fertility, planting, integrated pest, and disease management, water management and post-harvest practices.

Qualification (Education – Work Experience):

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, or other related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in implementing agricultural interventions.
  • Advanced level in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Humanitarian Reform process and the role of the humanitarian community (UN System and NGO).

Desirable:

  • Higher educational degree in Agricultural Sciences.
  • More than three years of experience in implementing agricultural interventions.
  • PMP or PMD certificates are preferable.
