Project Officer – University and HEIs Support in Jordan

Position: Project Officer – Jordan / National Post

Location: Jordan – Amman

Application Deadline: 15 August 2022

Duration: Full-time, one year with possibility of extension

Start Date: As soon as possible

SPARK is looking for a professional Project Officer for the Skill Up component. We are looking for someone who feels confident in their ability to think on their feet, utilize deductive reasoning and is not afraid to be creative when finding solutions.

SPARK is launching a new programme funded by Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for Jordan and Lebanon. The specific objective of the programme is to create employment opportunities to ensure increased economic inclusion,job creation and to facilitate access to the labour market in cooperation with the local private sector. The programme will be implemented in Jordan.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to

  • Coordinating SPARK’s activities under the Skill Up component with Universities and Higher Education Institutions and other relevant stakeholders’ representatives in Jordan.
  • Ensure smooth progress of organisational and all logistical matters linked to the project;
  • Establish and maintain contacts with relevant stakeholders from the educational sector;
  • Maintain relations with the cooperation partners, especially local universities and educational CSOs, with the regional technical lead expert.
  • Provide organisational and logistical support for other missions and ongoing activities in the region;
  • Main focal point and support point for Career Guidance Centres and HEIs
  • Mainly responsible for keeping internal data management systems up to date and ensuring that all documentation related to all of the students are kept in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide feedback and input for internal and external reporting
  • Work in compliance with SPARK policies and procedures
  • Other key administrative tasks

Requirements and Skills

  • Advanced Educational background or relevant experience in project management and/or the Education Sector
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in administrative management in projects
  • Proven working experience in similar field of work
  • INtemrediate or advanced communication skills
  • Good communication and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural setting.
  • Accurate, structured and precise
  • Multitasking, strong team working and teambuilding skills
  • Flexible and responsible
  • Full professional proficiency in Arabic and English is a requirement
  • Willing to learn and acquire new skills
  • Previous experience related to internship placement, work-ready skills will be considered as an advantage.
  • A high level of professional Integrity, work discipline, with a positive work attitude is a must.
