CARE’s East and Central Africa Regional Office (ECARO) is responsible for the oversight of CARE’s operations in the region as well as the provision of support to country offices in the region. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and resourceful person to join our team in the capacity of Project Officer for the Market Based Approaches global team.

Job Summary

The Market Based Approaches (MBA) team at CARE aims to positively impact 100 million people by 2030 by becoming the global leader in gender based market approaches. Our focus is helping women in low income communities earn more, save more and invest more. We are a rapidly growing team and need someone to help us ensure we have the internal and external capacity needed to grow. This position will lead and manage operational improvement efforts for the MBA team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partnership Management & Sourcing – 30%

Procurement Lead: Lead all procurement efforts in MBA for external partners. Due to rapid growth and unique skill set needs, our team relies heavily on external support from agencies, consulting firms and individuals, and partners we rely on to achieve our mission.

Recruiting – 30%

Recruiting Lead: Support all recruiting efforts in MBA. Due to rapid growth and unique skills sets, we have are regularly doing searches that are outside the traditional scope of CARE. This position will support position set-up & scoping and lead sourcing efforts.

Operational Innovation – 20%

Innovate new processes and technology to minimize time and cost of all operational processes in MBA.

Expense Management – 10%

Ensure all senior management expenses are turned in on time and accurately.

Administrative Support – 10%

Administrative support for the MBA Associate Vice President (AVP).

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • College degree with a focus on international development or similar/equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience in formatting and editing documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working cross-culturally, with people in different languages, time zones, and skill sets

Desirable:

  • Experience in recruiting or procurement
  • Experience using technology or process improvement to streamline and optimize operations
