Project Officer – Inward Investment INTERNAL

Kirklees Council

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed person to join the Business Kirklees Inward Investment team.

The Kirklees district is a highly diverse place to live and work. It sits at the centre of the Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield City Region triangle placing it within easy access of the North’s major cities, towns and transport infrastructure. With an annual economy worth around £7.5bn, access to a market of over 7 million people within a 1-hour drive, and over 300,000 highly-skilled university students right on our doorstep, Kirklees is a great place to invest and do business.

The Kirklees Economic Strategy establishes the council’s ambition to capitalise on these assets and support the growth of an inclusive and productive economy, weaving together investment in skills, innovation, and infrastructure. With ambitious employment targets, strategic employment sites and town centre regeneration objectives set out in the Kirklees Local Plan, and the Huddersfield and Dewsbury Blueprints respectively, there has never been a better time to be part of the Business Kirklees team.

This is an exciting and varied role, working with a wide variety of internal and external partners to secure successful business investment into Kirklees.

You will work closely with partners to develop and promote a compelling place narrative to help attract and secure new businesses and investment from both within the UK and overseas. Working alongside other members of the Business Kirklees team you will support our business engagement activity, helping to identify new leads and attract new business through marketing promotion and lead generation, working with prospects to provide proactive support to help them successfully locate in Kirklees.
