Organisation Background

An international NGO dedicated to humanitarian safety, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) provides information, analysis, coordination, training, and other support services to aid agencies working in insecure and fragile contexts.

Working with more than 1,000 local and international NGOs across 16 conflict affected countries, our projects support the safety of aid workers and help protect the vital relief they deliver to vulnerable communities.

INSO is headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands- the international city of peace and justice.

Job Summary

We are now seeking an organised person to join our headquarters training team as the Project Officer. You will support the organisation of training sessions in several countries and the training team deployments. You will also implement training-related monitoring and evaluation activities.

Key responsibilities

Organise training sessions

  • Communicate with INSO partners to invite and register participants.
  • Coordinate the organisation of training sessions with relevant stakeholders (training venue, printers, etc.) with the Global Training team facilitators.

Monitoring and evaluation of training activities

  • Assist in monitoring project activities (project documentation and data).
  • Assist in editing and coordinating donor reports for the project.

Travel organisation

  • Facilitate travel arrangements for the Global Training Team.
  • Co-organise conferences and study tours (small-scale events in various countries).

Project support

  • Support project procurement processes with purchase requests, bid analysis, Terms of Reference and participate in the evaluation process.
  • Maintain and safeguard the training equipment inventory.
  • Support general training team organisation.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required, French would be an asset
  • Experience in training or conference organisation
  • Strong commitment to INSO’s mandate and humanitarian principles
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Adaptability to changing contexts and priorities
  • ‘Can do attitude’ and ability to work both in a team and individually
  • Motivation for adult education activities
  • Right to live and work in the Netherlands

Terms & Conditions:

Fixed-term part-time contract based in The Hague, Netherlands, €2000 per month (based on 20 hours work week), 8% vacation pay (vakantiegeld), 1.25 days annual leave per month. INSO provides ONVZ Basic Premium health insurance.
