Job Purpose:
The Project Officer will strengthen the integration of MHPSS in HRO’s programming. The Project Officer is primarily tasked to ensure that
MHPSS integrated into project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Responsibilities for this include conducting dayto-day follow up on field work teams, use of tools, staff capacity building, implementing and reporting the needs-based activities and plans. In
addition to the development of applied measures in coordination with relevant thematic networks and working groups.
Key Responsibilities:
General Document successful activities, lessons learned and methodologies for MHPSS to identify lessons learned in relation to areas of strategic priority to guide improved attention within HRO programming. Develop coordination with (local authorities, community based and NGO entities). Program Ensure the implementation of the internal and donor’s SOPs, guidelines, referral pathways and coordination mechanisms. Train project staff on project related topics and tools, and how to conclude best-practice and lessons learned. Follow-up on the guidance note in prevention and response shared by the national working groups. Support Programme Manager and coordinator with specific requirements for MHPSS related outcomes. Provide technical support to MHPSS teams, update and ensure the use of technical guidelines and tools during the implementation of the activities. Provide technical input for designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of MHPSS. Support the proposal writing process in technical aspects and descriptions of MHPSS and response. Conduct regular field visits, and staff meetings. Updating the teams’ members on developments, challenges, recurring issues and trends in MHPSS and share recommendations to ensure continued engagement and informed decision-making. Integrate MHPSS analysis and propose additional or alternative measures of outcomes and impact for all relevant M&E work. Report monthly on the progress, challenges, lesson learned and share improvement suggestions.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
Education Bachelor’s degree required in social science especially psychological counseling,Psychology, Education, humanitarian assistance, , protection or relevant discipline preferred. Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience with MHPSS. Experience with MHPSS analysis and design, monitoring and evaluation. Previous experience with NGO or CSO.
Required competencies (skills / knowledge / capabilities:
Strong writing, communication, presentation and organizational skills .The ability to communicate challenging topics in a clear, focused, and respectful manner .Ability to adapt to the varying levels of experience with integrating gender sensitivity into programming when providing capacity building Fluency in Arabic and English .Computer literate in Word, Excel and Outlook .Ability to understand and advise on the challenges facing field staff .Ability to think strategically about improving project implementation
