EMPLOYMENT STATUS:            Regular, Full-Time, Exempt

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer/Chair of (RAPHC-C)

SALARY:                                      $65k-$70k/yr

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager will be working with Racism as a Public Health Crisis- Cleveland (RAPHC-C Program), a public/private partnership with the City of Cleveland and many community stakeholders and an employee of the Urban League reporting to the Chair of RAPHC-C, which is currently the President and CEO.

The position is housed at the Urban League of Greater Cleveland. The individual will be an employee of the Urban League and have ULGC benefits.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Project management experience a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and group facilitation skills
  • Organizational abilities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google and SharePoint
  • Proficient in meeting platforms such as Teams, Zoom, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

Bachelor’s degree minimum and master’s degree highly desired (relevant experience allowed in lieu of Masters).

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working within a public-private partnerships desired
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion training and experience
  • Knowledge of local government structures and inner workings

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of RAPHC-C
  • Reporting/updates to coalition co-chairs, executive committee and steering committee
  • Provide administrative support to the Steering Committee
  • Scheduling of meetings
  • Assist in setting meeting agendas
  • Creation and distribution of meeting notes
  • The development of key documents as commissioned by the Steering Committee
  • Working with consultants and other outside agencies, organizations and individuals, for the purpose of informing and carrying out RAPHC-C’s vision, mission, goals and objectives
  • Handle RAPHC-C correspondences
  • Will be intricately involved in developing and coordinating the community Town Hall to be held at the end of 2022
  • Will be responsible for assisting in the development of a community report as a key component of the Town Hall
  • Stay connected with local, state and national news that impact and inform RAPHC-C’s work, such as:
  • Similar and relevant organizing and initiatives
  • Legislation and policy impacting systemic racism as it pertains to RAPHC-C’s 5 pillar areas
  • Data and research relevant to RAPHC-C’s goals, mission, vision and current work being done within the coalition
  • An established commitment to work collaboratively and harmoniously with ULGC staff, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Organizing, performing, and prioritizing multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Handle a variety of tasks and projects on an ongoing basis
  • Utilize proactive approaches to problem-solving with decision-making capability
  • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including staff and external partners
  • Be a “self-starter” with the ability to work independently while observing and complying with all standards of the related programs and services of ULGC
  • Attend and participate in community functions, all ULGC events and programs that will enhance the visibility of our programs
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Outside of specific assignments commissioned by the RAPHC-C Executive Committee, this position will report day to day and be supervised by the Chair of RAPHC-C – the President/CEO of the Urban League of Greater Cleveland.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the ability to operate phones, computers, and other office equipment, and physical ability to perform light lifting. Employee must be able to communicate effectively with program participants and stakeholders. Generally, the working conditions have little or no exposure to extremes.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

During a pandemic, employees must be able to work remotely and use collaborative software to communicate with others and attend virtual meetings. Normally, work is performed in an office or classroom setting. Employee may be required to travel to various locations throughout the Greater Cleveland area.

 

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
