ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Manager will contribute to our work on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) towards our objective to end racism in football, with the ultimate goal of creating a world where the football community is anti-racist, inclusive, and celebrates diversity.
The focus of the role is to lead the implementation of racial justice projects in Europe, particularly Switch the Pitch. Switch the Pitch is a project focused on the training of professional football clubs, community organisations and fan groups to increase knowledge, motivation, and tools to challenge racism and champion inclusiveness.
The role requires a strong and thorough project manager, who is dedicated to racial justice, aims for radical collaboration to accelerate change and is a passionate and convincing communicator. We are specifically inviting PoC (People of Colour) to apply for this position.
- You manage the implementation of the Anti-Racist Project in Europe, aimed at creating more inclusive spaces in European football, through network building and the implementation of several multi-year training programme.
- You are responsible for all aspects of project management. This includes project design, planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), as well as financial and narrative reporting to our founders, including the EU.
- You lead the translation and adaptation of our anti-racist training curriculum into German based on your own expertise on these topics.
- You contribute to the implementation of additional DEI initiatives together with an internal team to effectively deliver against project deliverables.
- You review, develop content and facilitate training sessions for professional players, club staff, community organisation staff and young leaders.
- You provide guidance and develop new content focused on DEI, particularly racial justice.
- You build and maintain partnerships with Football for Good and DEI-focused organisations and engage with partners from the corporate, government, and football sectors to ensure the relevance, quality and sustainability of projects.
- You build and mentor communities of practice, working alongside experts to implement learning opportunities for the wider Common Goal Community.
- You have a degree in DEI, human rights, sports science, social science, international development or a related field.
- You have at least three (3) years of professional experience in diversity, equity and inclusion programmes, ideally related to the field of sports for development and anti-discrimination work.
- You have proven experience with managing complex, multi-stakeholder (ideally EU-funded) projects and collecting, reporting and communicating impact data. Event management experience is a plus.
- You have experience with conceptualising and facilitating workshops and trainings with a focus on DEI and/or racial justice. Your passion for football and experience in football coaching is a plus.
- You are a passionate communicator and know how to initiate and moderate collaborative processes.
- You are familiar with creating databases, spreadsheets, presentations and the use of project management tools and apps. Experience in the creation of online learning tools is a plus.
- You are willing and able to travel regularly.
- You are native or fluent in English and German. Fluency in other languages is an important asset (especially Spanish).
