ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Project Manager to join the Project Team.

To advance anti-corruption work in different fields, TI is implementing multi-country projects in different regions of the world. The project ‘**Building Integrity & National Accountability in Lebanon**, funded by the European Commission, will start on February 1, 2022 and is planned to end in December 2025. The project involves will be implemented in partnership with the Lebanese National Chapter of TI (“Lebanese Transparency Association, LTA”) the “Lebanese Centre for Policy Studies” (LCPS) and up to 25 civil society organisations in Lebanon. The Project Manager will assume the coordination of this project, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: Coordination of the project “Building Integrity & National Accountability in Lebanon”.

Reporting Line: Head of Projects

Salary Band: salary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 a salary starting EUR 40.000 gross per year depending on relevant experience

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organisational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Project Team and reporting to the Head of Projects, the Project Manager is responsible for implementing the project “Building Integrity & National Accountability in Lebanon”. Specifically, they will coordinate the workflow, financial and administrative management of this project, ensuring that agreed goals, best practice standards, donor obligations and TI-S regulations are met. They will work in close collaboration with the project partners (LTA and LCPS) and regularly report to the donor (Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon/DG INTPA). Specifically, the Project Manager will:

  • Coordinate day-to-day project implementation, including activity planning, budget management, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring that all phases are consistent with the design and delivery schedule and internal processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate and support collaboration between teams and project partners to enable impactful implementation of the project.
  • Monitor activities to ensure compliance with contracts and procedures and that work cycle quality controls are in place.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with the Finance team to build accurate financial forecasts, including reviewing financial reports and identifying in advance areas of over- or under-spending, and flagging any urgent budgetary issues.
  • Ensure work deliverables meet quality standards and proactively seek input from relevant internal experts, where necessary.
  • Generate ideas and develop concept notes/proposals that are aligned with organizational priorities, in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the organization of/organize institutional events/meetings; including preparing documentation before and after events.
  • Conduct research relating to the work area; respond to internal and external requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of developments and be available to respond to on-demand needs by adapting work plans, if necessary.
  • When necessary, represent the project/organization at relevant fora. Build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary.
  • Coordinate and monitor project monitoring and evaluation for all project partners, including project impact, plan advocacy interventions and communication/outreach activities

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • Undergraduate university degree or professional qualification in business administration, management, finance, social science, public administration, economics, or another relevant field
  • 5+ years of project management experience with an International NGO or International Organisation, or Multinational Organisation with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of project management best practices
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of TI and the field of anti-corruption; solid understanding of and experience with the work of civil society organizations in Lebanon an advantage
  • A recognised project management certification an advantage
  • Professional language proficiency in English required; working knowledge of Arabic and/or French an advantage
  • Highly developed teamwork and intercultural communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
