In support of the work in Yangon, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Project Manager in Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (m/f/d).
As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage the new disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction (DiDRR) project that will be implemented in Kayin and Rakhine States as well as on national level (Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw if applicable). You will provide technical and methodological support to participating program location teams (Kayin, Rakhine) and partner organizations and ensure the quality and relevance of project activities. You will ensure that learning from projects is systematically captured and used throughout the country program.
Your Responsibilities
- Overall management of the disability-inclusive disaster risk reduction (DiDRR) project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO)
- Representation of Malteser International in DRR and inclusion/protection fora as well as networking
- Supporting capacity building actions on disability-inclusive disaster preparedness and humanitarian assistance for stakeholders
- Supporting partner organizations in developing and piloting of innovative approaches to disability inclusive DRR and humanitarian aid planning and implementation capacities
- Supporting Malteser International’s Country Program in DRR and disability-inclusion related matters
Your Profile
- University degree in a speciality relevant to the humanitarian and development sector
- At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian work and at least 2 years of proven experience in disaster risk reduction/preparedness projects and/or inclusion focused projects
- Experience in WASH is an advantage
- Good communicator with demonstrated experience in networking and advocacy
- Proven skills in standard MS Office software as well as a good command of the virtual communication environment (MS Teams, Zoom etc.)
- Proven skills in designing and implementing training activities, including virtual training and facilitation
- Ability to work independently to a high standard and able to travel (COVID-19 and security permitting)
- Fluent in English and Myanmar, both written and verbal
What We Offer

- Duration of contract: 1 year (extendable) due to donor approval
- Salary according to qualification and experience: 13th Month Salary, Contract End Benefit, Location Specific Allowance and Health & Life Insurances
