About the role

We are looking for a consultant with both Cash Transfer and MIS development experience to manage one of our sub-Saharan digital CVA programmes.

As Project Manager, you would be leading a small team in the design and development of cash transfers digital system for an girls’ education programme as well as an pupil attendance monitoring tool. Internally, you will coordinate developers and technical assistance staff in the system-level design, piloting, and deployment of the digital platforms.

In addition, your responsibilities will include monitoring progress and maintaining rigorous team and client coordination and communication. You will also act as the focal point for the client and implementing partners to establish approach and design of tools, as well as overseeing training delivery, troubleshooting, and reporting activities. Where necessary, you will work closely with implementing partners and the client to feed into programme-wide strategy, monitoring and reporting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Team leadership – coordinating a small team of both IT (2) and implementation (1) staff. Within the broader programme, coordinating with implementing partners to ensure alignment and robust field feedback loops.
  • Time management – developing tools to monitor delivery against deadlines
  • Strong communication and client liaison skills.
  • Technical oversight – must be able to assess and support system implementation (ensuring continuous alignment between client requirements and technical staff approach), supporting troubleshooting through monitoring of feedback channels and identifying system areas for adaptation and strengthening throughout programme lifespan.
  • Coordination- As a technical lead for the project, the Project Manager will be required to coordinate the development of the digital tools, and all the operations to support roll-out
  • Partner liaising– supporting strategic discussions around broader data visibility for local and national-level decision-makers; must be able to coordinate with a range of programmatic personnel, governmental counterparts, and UN/NGO stakeholders confidently and efficiently.
  • Training and high-level workshop/report presentation delivery.
  • Strong writing skills with ability to generate timely reports for a range of audiences.
  • Support broad, internal organisation reporting, planning and development processes.

Experience

  • BA and MA in international development, education (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years’ project management experience across development sector, ideally with CVA focus
  • Familiarity with data collection tool/MIS development required
  • Familiarity with basic Tech4Dev approaches and processes
  • Availability to travel to fragile/remote areas
  • Familiarity working in francophone West Africa desirable
  • Understanding of international humanitarian sector is a bonus
  • Fluency in French is imperative

Location

Remote with regular travel to fragile and conflict affected countries, including Mali.

Contract Arrangements

Part time consultancy contract for a period of one year.
