Project Management

As an experienced Project Manager you will provide the overall leadership and project management of this education charity and contribute to the successful delivery of the UK Government’s flagship outward mobility project led by two partnering stakeholders. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a leading global mobility scheme supporting students from schools, colleges and universities to access international study and work opportunities, delivering transformative opportunities for individuals and communities across the UK whilst securing the buy-in from Higher Education, Schools and colleges in all four nations. The Project Manager is a critical role, and the post holder needs outstanding project and risk management skills and use appropriate tools to monitor and report on progress, dependencies and risks to provide assurance for the charity, senior team, and stakeholders. This Project Manager will have experience of working at pace to deliver multi-partner projects. Essential skills and experience of the following:

  • Expertise in risk management
  • Knowledge of theories of change and logical frameworks and experience managing project monitoring and evaluation.IT
  • Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in relevant IT/ software, e.g. Excel.
  • Expertise in data visualisation and dashboard/reporting for senior leadership Financial Management
  • Proven financial skills, with knowledge and experience of budget development, and financial monitoring and reporting. Leadership/ Team Management
  • Experience of leading, empowering, and motivating teams to promote a high-performance culture.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to anticipate impact of actions on partners, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to champion a shared culture working across teams and integrated shared services. Education / Experience and Knowledge
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (with post-graduate qualifications an advantage).
  • Advanced Project Management qualification.
  • Understanding or interest of Higher Education/Schools/Further Education/VET in the UK. Experience in education is an advantage but not essential.
  • Alternatively, experience of working in the development or third sector or have been a participant in the Erasmus programme or in the private sector is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to international education and partnerships.
  • Strong commitment to widening participation and the values of the charity i.e. – Quality, Collaboration, Innovation, Respect, and Inclusion. Communication
  • Track record of effective external relationship management including presentation to clients/ partners, networking, international working, and conferences.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiating skills, including an ability to present complex ideas and information in a clear, succinct, and persuasive manner and make effective presentations. This a flagship scheme and the measurement of the success will be based on the ability of the Project Manager’s skills to evaluate, monitor, assess and keep on track of project.

This position can offer remote working i.e. 40% remote working and 60% office based (subject to current Covid 19 restrictions).

Part-time i.e. 4 days a week can also be considered.
