International Advisory, Products and Systems (i-APS) is a woman-owned and managed consulting firm that leverages global expertise with local presence to transform organizations and communities into partners for change.

i-APS Sudan is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work with it for the project manager Position.

Tasks and responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Work closely with country manager and team members to develop, manage, and control multiple complex and interrelated project schedules utilizing current project management scheduling tools.
  • Manage a comprehensive project plan, including resource needs analysis, covering the time frame.
  • Support project implementation as needed, including developing assessments, baselines, budgets, monitoring & evaluation systems, field visits to verify data, and internal & external reporting.
  • Conduct quality control analysis, testing, surveys, etc. to determine if project deliverables meet established standards and client expectations, and prepare resultant findings reports, including recommendations for quality improvement.

Area Staff Management and Capacity Building

  • Effectively manage the i-APS Sudan with an emphasis on excellence, promoting a culture of cooperation, learning, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ongoing development of team composition and structure to ensure that it is fit for i-APS Sudan goals (mainly expanding business activities), develop job descriptions, follow up with all staff including field staff-related recruitment processes and orientation of staff. Proactively seek to increase and diversify the numbers of local staff members in the field team.
  • Development of overall staff competence through leadership, training and coaching of technical and management key field staff.
  • Provide technical oversight to Admins reporting responsibilities.
  • Held and participate in team meetings

Operation Development

  • Participate and lead in constructing i-APS Sudan strategic planning and contribute to the sustainable management of program growth with a continual eye on new program developments.
  • In collaboration with i-APS Sudan main staff, lead the annual programme portfolio analyses, and prepare Area Office-level budgets.
  • Playing a key role in client contract management.
  • Build and maintain operational structures that ensure proper segregation of duties between finance, administration and logistics and fully support field activities.

Operation Implementation & Coordination

  • Provide oversight, guidance and leadership to all aspects of delivery and implementation in Sudan, including ensuring timely reporting, compliance and quality utilizing routine monitoring and feedback into programme implementation.
  • Ensure effective and transparent budget follow-up, planning and use of financial resources in compliance with i-APS HQ and Sudanese policies and priorities and ensure the use of program management tools and real-time.
  • Develop a close and productive working relationship with all staff and clients to ensure that all aspects of programs/projects are implemented to maximum effect and compliant with i-APS and client regulations.

Partnerships and Representation

  • Represent i-APS Sudan to potential clients.
  • Cultivate key relationships in day-to-day engagement that enhance i-APS visibility, and credibility in Sudan with key government and other stakeholders.

  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate and lead processes that include multiple stakeholders and interests.
  • Demonstrable highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical writing skills including developing proposals and reports.
  • Must be self-reliant, resourceful, a good problem-solver, good-humoured, and flexible.
  • Knowledge of basic programme development skills such as quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation.
  • Analytical thinking, analysis capacity and strategic project development skills.

Eligibility:

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, or another related field (Essential)

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience at senior level in project management or relevant roles, preferably in complex humanitarian environments.
  • Knowledge of the national and regional dynamics of Sudan, and an understanding of the functioning and policy-making dynamics of involved actors.
  • Experience in Communication with Communities (CwC).
  • A thorough understanding of the work of humanitarian and development agencies, including working within the context of refugee protection and assistance, UN cluster system, coordination, and peacekeeping operations.
  • Experience in complex emergency settings and insecure countries.
  • Previous experience in project management across multiple locations.
  • Ability to travel within and spend extended time in the field, with limited facilities, often under harsh conditions.
