VAT Vakuumventile AG Project Manager BU Advanced Industrials
As a member of the business unit Advanced Industrial, you are responsible for developing products for the global vacuum market. These products are, for example, key elements in future power generation and storage (e.g. “nuclear fusion”), in research of the smallest and largest structures in the universe (e.g. “accelerators”, “gravitational waves”) or in measurement technologies (e.g. “electron microscopes”, “mass spectrometers”). Together with the product managers, project managers, development engineers, supply chain specialists and quality engineers, you will lead the product development to a technical and commercial success.
YOUR CHALLENGES
- Initiating and leading technology- and product-developments, -modifications, customer specific product adaptations, cost reductions or product localizations
- Execution of feasibility and concept studies with product management in quoting process
- Understand and apply agile/scrum and lean principles as appropriate
- Management of all product development phases from idea/concept to industrialization (stage-gate process) in an agile way
- Reporting the project status to the VAT innovation boards based on project scope, costs profitability, quality and timeline
- Intensive coordination of interdisciplinary teams out of product management, R&D, supply chain management and quality to ensure that customer requirements are optimally and completely fulfilled
- Supporting installations on customer’s site
YOUR COMPENTENCIES
- Passion to perform as a project manager in the area product and technology development
- Completed education in mechanical engineering / precision engineering / mechatronics (bachelor, master or comparable)
- Ability to handle complex projects in a structured way and accordingly to the given processes
- Advanced training in project management and/or business administration is an advantage
- Experience in project execution for facilities under nuclear regulations is an advantage
- Knowledge in the field of vacuum technology, automotive or medical is an advantage
- Knowledge in quality engineering methodologies (e.g. RCCA)
- Good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10%)
