Job-Overview

In Order To Drive Continuous Improvement And Seamless Agile Product Delivery, We Focus On

The Digital Portfolio Operations Department is responsible for operationalizing the standards, strategies, and processes for how our digital products and services are delivered. This department is an agile-run department and serves as an ambassador for agile principles across all aspects of product development.

  • Supporting data-driven decision making

As a Senior Project Leader, you will be a trusted advisor working with product managers, portfolio owners, and leaders across the firm. This role partners with the product manager by supporting planning, prioritization, monitoring, and controlling for the overall Digital Product, which includes multiple agile product delivery teams. It requires experience with high-risk, complex business projects and requires a high degree of strategic thinking, systems thinking, planning, organizing, driving for results, communicating with impact, and adapting to change.

Responsibility Summary

  • Plan – Participate in the planning process, looking at product impacts across Portfolios, Products, and areas, and assist with strategic/annual planning. Track and manage product needs and ensure resources are assigned appropriately. Assess trade-offs using cost/benefit analysis and make recommendations to senior leaders. Establish onboarding plans for new product resources, ensuring they have access to the right tools, people, and information so that they can start contributing quickly
  • Strategize – Think creatively to find potential solutions and examine possibilities and outcomes. Interpret, follow and apply regulations, internal policies, procedures, and guidelines. Serve as “protector” that enables Product Leadership to focus on product strategy by removing distractions.
  • Collaborate – Trusted advisor/ “Chief of Staff” and partner for Product Managers to help plan and support the product vision and ongoing management of the product strategy. Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships across areas, outside vendors and product teams, providing timely updates of relevant data to senior leadership for decision making.
  • Manage -. Identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate and help to resolve issues that can impact a large, complex product portfolio. Manage and communicate Product Roadmaps, Milestones, Issues, Risks, and Status Reports ensuring transparency and visibility to team members, stakeholders, divisional leaders, and 3rd party vendors keeping everyone informed in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Handle multiple deliverables and seamlessly transition among them.
  • Lead – Funding management, governance group preparation including budget planning, tracking, as well as third party vendor selection and invoice management. Effectively have span of influence in managing up, resolving conflict across multiple groups, and impacting processes and approaches used across the area and the firm. Establish internal best practices and processes and ensure team members are using tools effectively.
  • Solve Problems – Remove roadblocks for the product teams regarding processes, tools, responsibilities, and drive accountability, escalating challenges as needed. Effectively analyze and resolve complex problems while working with divisions across the firm. Identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate and/or resolve issues and risks that impact large, complex products that require facilitation across multiple areas. Explore multiple alternatives and arrive at appropriate decisions, aligning with department/division goals and/or firm values.
  • Mentor – Support multiple product teams, guiding by example, demonstrating firm values, and providing guidance and training. Develop firm-wide leadership through contributions to initiatives driven by Digital Portfolio Operations. Support and partner with new department resources during the onboarding process.

Skills-Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading projects with a high level of complexity/integration that includes other projects and project leaders. (Prefer experience working on at least $2M enterprise-wide projects.)
  • 3+ years of industry or product management experience. Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Superior presentation skills preferred.
  • Superior organization and coordination skills.
  • Excellent relationship management, organizational, coordination and collaboration skills
  • Prior Business Analyst or Project Leadership Experience a plus
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • MBA or graduate degree a plus.
  • Project management certification (PMP) a plus.
  • Business Analyst Experience a plus
  • Agile/SAFe experience and certification a plus.
