We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our Refugee Support and Restoring Family Links (RSRFL) team.

You’ll be responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering casework and social, wellbeing and integration activities for refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants and will undertake a range of duties designed to develop, maintain, promote the service. You’ll also have the responsibility of recruiting and developing a team of volunteers who will support with casework and project work to help ensure that we are delivering the best service possible. You’ll have the opportunity to build and shape the team.

This post is part of the East of the England refugee support team with colleagues in Norwich, Luton, Peterborough and Chelmsford. You’ll manage casework and volunteers across each of the county areas, this may include occasional travel. The team provides casework, destitution and emotional support to refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants, many of whom are experiencing social isolation, trauma and separation while trying to navigate complex legal systems.

Further to this as part of our continued commitment to helping during the Ukraine Crisis, this role also includes supporting the development and implementation of the pre-arrival and post-arrival activities aimed at people impacted by the Ukraine conflict. The post-arrival service is for people who have arrived in the UK under Humanitarian sponsorship and require support due to their specific vulnerabilities to access their rights and entitlements. The service will focus on the delivery of integration support through a dedicated team of national casework coordinators. The project will run for 12 months and will initially support over 1,000 Ukrainian individuals.

This could be for you if … • You have experience working in a casework environment • You have experience of supporting or working refugees or other vulnerable service users • You have an understanding of issues relating to asylum seekers and refugees • You’re a team player and a great communicator; communicating effectively in group settings with the ability to adapt your style to suit your audience. • You’re able to support, manage and develop volunteers (previous experience of managing volunteers would be an advantage). • You’re organised; you have great time management skills and are able to plan, prioritise and monitor your own and others’ workload
