THE ORGANIZATION

The Group for Transcultural Relations (GRT) is an Italian NGO founded in Milan in 1968 to defend human rights, promote mental health and psychosocial well-being in Italy and abroad. We consider diversity an asset to be valued in sustainable pathways to social inclusion.

The main intervention areas are: Community Mental Health, Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), Child Protection, Gender-based violence (GBV) and Migration Rights. We mainly employ professionals such as psychologists, educators, anthropologists, cultural mediators, medical psychiatrists and “social” experts.

Since September 2017, GRT has incorporated the Cecchini Pace Foundation by taking over the Transcultural Institute for Health activities, developing direct clinical-educational interventions with both Italian and foreign-born subjects, supervision paths for service workers, and advanced training courses for students and professionals, including the first Transcultural Psychotherapy School in Italy, recognized by Italian Ministry of University and Research since 2001.

Objectives

– Timely management of ongoing projects

– Strengthening network with partners and relationships with donors and stakeholders

– New projects development

Main duties

– Coordination of ongoing projects, ensuring proper implementation, meeting deadlines and objectives

– Management of on-site relations with national and international donors and partners

– Support the research for calls and development of new project proposals (development, finalization and review of project documents)

– Conducting feasibility studies agreed upon with headquarters

– Review/translation of reports from Italian to English and vice versa

– Supervising local project staff

– Supporting the local staff selection

Requirements

– Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Cooperation, International Relations and similar

– Minimum 3 years experience in Project Management in International Cooperation

– Proven experience in project writing and knowledge of guidelines and procedures of national and international funders (AICS, Prime Minister’s Office, European Union, GIZ, Cariplo Foundation, etc. )

– Administrative and Procurement skills

– Native Italian speaker or C2 Italian language proficiency

– Excellent written and oral English skills

– Excellent basic computer skills (Office Package, Google Online Tools, Meet)

– Ability to manage human resources and teams

– Organizational and problem solving skills

Desirable requirements

– Knowledge of the African context, particularly East and Horn of Africa

– Expertise (work or training) in one or more of the following areas: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Gender-based Violence, Child Protection with a focus on street children, Migrant and Refugee Social Inclusion

– Postgraduate training in Human Rights, Public Health, Project Cycle Management.
