7Hills Skatepark

​​7hills for Social Development is a grassroots, skateboarder driven non-for-profit based in Jordan. 7hills develops safe and inclusive skateparks and public spaces, and runs free of charge skateboarding, informal education, and arts programs for youths from all tiers of society. 7hills developed a Youth Leadership program to train and coach local and refugee youth to become skateboarding teachers and become true community leaders.

Through the tool of skateboarding, the development of urban social infrastructure, and research-backed development programs, 7hills bridges the gap between socio-economic, cultural, religious, and gender differences to create harmonized open democratic spaces for marginalized people, females, and youth in Jordan.

7hills is looking for an experienced manager to join its team to run its skateboarding (and other) program and activities, in Amman and other cities in Jordan.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate 7hills programming, from operational, administrative and financial points of view, applying strategic planning and systematic coordination
  • Manage skate and Youth Leadership programs
  • Work with grants manager to develop proposals and budgets
  • Develop management plans and tools for all skate programs
  • Attend programmatic activities in Amman and other cities a few times per week or as per the needs
  • Report to management about challenges and successes
  • Build partnerships with local and international entities in Jordan
  • Identify new opportunities for the skate programs
  • Produce reports as requested by partners in coordination with grants and reporting manager and the skate trainers
  • Evaluate Youth Leadership program and propose training sessions as per the needs
  • Oversee data entry and collection of skate activities

Qualifications

  • No less than 4 years of solid experience in program management
  • Experience in sports for development and programming for youth is a plus
  • Knowledge of skateboarding is a plus
  • Applicant must be based in Jordan
  • Ability to work within a small team and with youth, manage priorities, and work independently
  • Excellent command of Arabic and English both written and spoken

Contract details

  • The ideal start date is January 2023
  • 6 months contract with 2 months probation, renewable
  • Full time (40 hours), the working hours are based on the program’s schedule of activities
