Job Description The Opportunity
BAE Systems is seeking a Programmer Intern for Summer 2023. Join our Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Software Solutions Team working in support of the US and UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System and US Attack Weapon System programs. The selected candidate will work closely with numerous interdisciplinary IT and engineering teams by performing the following functions in support of EIM activities:
- Build and code applications and/or modules using languages such as C++, visual basic, ABAP, JAVA, XTML, etc.
- Provide patches and upgrades to existing systems
- Prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
- May build add-on modules using application program language

Intern Program
The I&S LEAP Intern Program offers current college students hands-on experience and development opportunities in technology, engineering, intelligence, and business.
In addition to on-the-job training, the I&S LEAP Internship Program offers:
Competitive Pay
: Earn a competitive hourly wage, working full-time (Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week) through the run of the program (typically mid-May through August).

: Many of our I&S interns return as interns and/or are hired on full-time after completing their degree.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Enrolled student at an accredited 4-year college/university having completed a minimum of two years (rising Junior)
- Working towards a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Scientific degree with suitable software engineering content
- Demonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Experience with Java development
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, etc.)
- Familiarity with
