Kvinna till Kvinna opened an office in Amman in 2006 to manage the support to Jordanian partner organizations.
As Programme Officer you will join four other members of the Jordan program team who have programmatic, administrative and financial functions. You would report to the Head of Office Jordan/Iraq.
Based in Amman but also working in different parts of Jordan, you will have regular work interactions with regional staff at the Amman office, colleagues at the MENA region, women’s organizations and other actors in Jordan and in the region, colleagues at Kvinna till Kvinna’s head office in Stockholm (Sweden) and various other external stakeholders. Currently, the Programme Officer supports the implementation of two regional programmes of Kvinna till Kvinna in Jordan.
Your tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- Support partner organizations throughout the project cycle and ensure clear and timely communication and follow-up of important milestones, such as deadlines for applications and reporting deliverables; and provide problem-solving solutions in collaboration with partners where needed;
- Be responsible for the delivery and overall management of EU funded project, including relations with partners and donors reporting as required.
- Support partner organisations in developing applications, including budgets and work plans, and in delivering reporting requirements;
- Develop and maintain a yearly monitoring and evaluation plan for partner organisations;
- Ensure close dialogue with partner organisations throughout the project cycle, conduct monitoring visits and follow-up on respective documentation;
- Conduct regular organisational assessments of Kvinna till Kvinna partner organisations and of potential new partner organisations if needed;
- Develop regular reports on programme implementation and current political developments in the country to donors, head office and any other stakeholders, as per need;
- Participate in and regularly contribute to Kvinna till Kvinna thematic working groups at regional and global level;
- Provide continuous support to partner organisations, capacity building and organise exchanges, study or advocacy trips and networking meetings to enhance quality programming and implementation, if required;
- Support and work with regional and head office staff on contributions to social media channels and website;
- Coordinate and cooperate with like-minded organisations, INGOs and donors active in the field of women’s rights, if required;
- Conduct general administration and financial procedures in relation to the programme, including support in logistics of workshops and trainings, if required;
- Representing Kvinna till Kvinna at official meetings and functions in the context of programme development and donor relations, if required;
About You

You need to at least have:
- Preferably bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Political Science, Human Rights or any other related field;
- Minimum four years of relevant work experience with women’s human rights, gender equality issues, women’s empowerment, women’s political activism and/or organisational development;
- In-depth experience in project cycle management and in planning, monitoring and evaluation, PME and proven experience of identifying and providing capacity building to local NGOs;
- Good understanding of human rights and the application of a rights-based approach in development cooperation.
- Strong analytical skills and as well as proficiency in Microsoft office;
- Valid driving license;
- Experience of working in/or knowledge of the region, particularly Jordan;
- Languages: Excellent written and spoken Arabic; very good working level of spoken and written English.
Ability to travel 2-5 times a year within the MENA region or outside the region to attend internal and external meetings and workshops.
