Two headquarters divisions in UNICEF Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) and the Public Partnerships Division (PPD)—work with the private and public sectors, including 33 UNICEF National Committees, to drive income and influence for the organization. The Programme Coordination team serves as a bridge between private and public sector fundraisers and programme colleagues to maximize the quality of income and the results for children. This is achieved through three strategic pillars of work: Products (the development of programmatic content to use in fundraising); People (audience engagement and capacity building on UNICEF’s programme and operations to empower fundraisers to articulate UNICEF’s work with partners); and Systems (leadership of donor reporting and other major change initiatives like the Results Project.)
For every child, a Champion
This post is responsible for managing implementation of two of the three pillars of the team’s strategy, including Products and People, as well as contributing to Systems. Its overarching role is to ensure audience needs are incorporated across all of the team’s work.
How can you make a difference?
- Strategically engages with all public and private sector audiences, with a focus on high-value audiences (business, foundations, philanthropists, bilaterals and multilaterals), in order to inform all of the team’s deliverables, in particular to maximize high quality, flexible income and the highest level of results for children.
- Strategically contributes to the Results Project, the objective of which is “to be a credible partner of choice by pitching and delivering a strong results narrative for all partners.” This requires significant stakeholder management between fundraising teams and HQ Divisions like the Division of Data, Analytics and Programme Monitoring (DAPM), The Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM), Programme Group (PG), and the Evaluation Office, as well as regional and country offices. It also requires strong provision of technical support on UNICEF’s Results Model – Rights and Results Programming (RRP) as it relates to fundraising and partnerships and results in country programmes.
- Strategically manages content development – Oversees the content development process for all programmatic content developed by the team, including core content, major propositions, audience-focused content, and bespoke proposals. Through heavy engagement with programme colleagues as well as with audiences, it will ensure best practice across the full partnership cycle, including high-quality donor reporting for all partnerships.
- Strategically manages change management initiatives, including capacity building. This sustainable roll-out of the Programme Masterclass, webinars for all private and public sector colleagues, and other major change management and training initiatives.

Education
- An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: marketing, economics, social sciences, fundraising, international relations, communication, law, business administration.
- Alternatively, a first-level university degree in combination with two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience
- A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional work experience in communications, fundraising, or programme management is required.
- Experience from UNICEF or other development agencies with a deep understanding of how the UN works is an asset.
- At least five years of consistent, deep experience with both private and public sector audiences, including governments, philanthropists, business, and foundations is required.
- At least five years of consistent engagement with programmes and operations is required.
- Five years of experience in results-based management is an asset.
- Five years of experience in creating and operationalizing a new large-scale training programme is an asset.
- At least five years of experience in writing and overseeing complex programmatic content pieces used in fundraising is required.
- Proven experience in driving a senior-level change management initiative across a large complex organization is required.
- Exceptional communication skills and significant experience in delivering compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders is required.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.

Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
