This exciting role within our Centre for Policy and Industrial Transformation (CPIT) is an opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced team that engages with senior business leaders and UK, EU and international policy makers to support the transition to a sustainable economy. CPIT’s influential projects include CISL’s Corporate Leaders Groups, the Aviation Impact Accelerator, and much more.

The team is looking for a Programme Manager to deliver a range of projects including work on nature and resilience. As a Programme Manager, you will provide strategic leadership to projects in your area, oversee delivery and manage the development of new partnerships and funding to expand the work. Key areas for this role includes developing work on climate resilience, as well as our ability to engage with policies around nature, food and agriculture.

This is an atypical role for a University Programme Manager, with an emphasis on external engagement, communications and impact.

Skills And Experience

  • Understanding and experience of how policy is developed or influenced. Awareness of UK policy processes.
  • Understanding of nature, climate and sustainability issues and how they affect business and the economy.
  • Experience of delivering effective strategies for change and understanding of how to develop such strategies.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a proven ability to grow and maintain relationships with partners; companies, policy makers and funders.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, including experience of event management, financial planning, developing and maintaining budgets and managing multiple complex projects at one time.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be flexible and manage competing priorities.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent.

  • Experience of working in an international context.
