How do we work?
Simavi is a (small /medium sized) Netherlands based international NGO working in the specialist areas of human rights to water and sanitation, gender equality and climate justice. Our objective is that every woman and girl in a climate vulnerable context overcomes barriers to claim her rights to water and sanitation and is able to enjoy these rights.
We put women and girls at the center of our work and we collaborate with partner organisations world-wide to create impact through our programmes and advocacy and campaigns. We currently work in 10 countries in Africa and Asia. And we have teams based in Bangladesh, Nepal, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Indonesia and the Netherlands. The Team
You will liaise with Dutch office staff from other Circles and may be asked to coach project staff in-country. You will be coached by the Director of Programme.
Your role at Simavi
You will be a Programme Manager providing technical assistance on Innovative Safe motherhood project, in a consortium with 8 members and under leadership of TNO.
Your result areas
Implementation of a Research Project on the Check2Gether (medical/lab instruments with an application to screen pregnant mothers supported by an IT decision support tool) in EU Horizon project “GroupCare for 1000 days” in Ghana in collaboration with a local Ghanaian partner PHS.
What you bring
- Midwife or medial professional with competence to supervise Ghanaian government midwifes.
- Experience with implementation research and analyses of excel data bases.
- Result-driven and entrepreneurial.
- A team player and are open to others opinions and ideas.
- Knowledge and experience with social accountability principles.

We offer a consultancy agreement from August 1st 2023 until 31 December 2023, for a total of 16 hours per week (69 hours per month)
The hourly fee for this assignment is 60 EUR per hours incl VAT(480 EUR per day incl VAT).
Our office is located at Naritaweg 135, which is a 5 minutes’ walk from train station Amsterdam Sloterdijk. We also work hybrid.
