Wirral Council
Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.
We are therefore looking to appoint three dynamic and hardworking programme managers to join our respected and expanding Public Health team. In this role, you’ll lead and manage projects from beginning to end (including initiation, scoping, planning, implementation, delivery and closure with lessons learned) working with public health leads to turn strategy into actionable delivery.
Operating at both a strategic and hands on level, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, often at a senior level, you will maintain regular communication and build relationships. You will define project success criteria and then set and continually lead project management and oversight. You will therefore need to be flexible and confident working in a changing, delivery focused environment.
As a Council, we strive to be and make a positive difference for all our residents and communities in Wirral, this is at the heart of what we do. You should therefore also be experienced working with elected representatives and engaging effectively with local communities.
Our core values are central to who we are and how we do business. At Wirral Council, you will be expected to collaborate positively, have a passion to succeed, be prepared to take smart risks, possess leadership qualities, be able to flex your expertise and use your strong sense of customer focus to exceed expectations, every day.
This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home. In future, the Council will be moving to a hybrid of working arrangements for many of our roles with a combination of homeworking, office and site working as required.
