Programme Funding Manager-ENA

An exciting role of Programme Funding Manager has arisen in our Eurasia and North Africa team to be based in one of our ENA countries.

The Programme Funding Team exists within Tearfund as the center of specialised expertise and skills on the acquisition of Institutional Funding.

The PFM will be responsible for providing capacity to produce high quality proposals for institutional donors, manage the development of consortia, cross-team and multi-country proposals, ensure shared learning, development of strategic programmes, as well as providing management support and oversight to country teams implementing institutionally funded programmes.

The successful candidate must have the following experience:

  • Substantial previous experience within the Relief and Development Sector
  • Managing and/or coordinating large scale funding bids to institutional donors
  • Extensive experience in project design, project proposal development and reporting
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Proven ability in securing ($1m+ grants)and managing relationships with major institutional donors (such as USAID,FCDO, Scandinavian donors or the European Commission)
  • Experience and good working knowledge of donor compliance requirements
  • Experience of engaging with donor and/or internal organisational auditing processes
  • Capacity building, training and/or mentoring of staff and partner organisations
  • Working in partnership with local NGOs
  • Experience of working in ENA region or Countries

The candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and be a strong negotiator and problem solver. Also have an influencing, presentation and analytical skills.

The position will be based in Beirut, Damascus, Erbil, Amman or Islamabad with frequent travel between these countries (up to 3 months a year).

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding issues. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter-terror measure.
