DRS is looking for a Programme Director for our client, an international member-based organization. In this role, you’ll be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of strategic and operational aspects, covering company employees, operations, programs, projects, strategic expansion, and the execution of organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for the HCV Approach and Secretariat, focusing on developing timelines and leveraging resources to achieve strategic goals.
  • Oversee governance, including the development, improvement, and maintenance of governance documents and processes. Coordinate and report to various governance bodies, including Trustees, Legal Directors, Members, and others.
  • Lead Member engagement and coordination efforts to deliver the strategy, ensuring a credible use of the HCV Approach on a global scale.
  • Supervise the strategic broadening of partnerships and membership, firmly positioning the HCV Approach and its implementation tools in relevant international frameworks, initiatives, emerging markets, and regulations. Identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Oversee program and project development, implementation, finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and operations systems.
  • Manage and mentor a highly skilled, multicultural team. Recruit talent to ensure the successful delivery of projects, programs, and the broader strategy.
  • Take charge of the organization’s annual budget. Expand revenue-generating and fundraising activities to support the implementation of new and existing programs and projects.
  • Ensure long-term financial sustainability through diversified income streams.
  • Deepen and refine communications across various channels, from social media and web presence to external relations, to strengthen the organization.
  • Represent the organization and leverage external relationships to explore and secure new opportunities.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Extensive background in international engagements, collaborating with diverse stakeholders within the FLAG (forestry, land, and agriculture) sector.
  • Degree (minimum of Master’s degree) in Environmental Management or relevant field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience and 5 years of senior management experience.
  • Track record in successfully leading and scaling organizations and teams, with the ability to highlight specific instances where strategic development and implementation propelled an organization to the next stage of growth.
  • Comprehensive expertise in fundraising, encompassing skills in identifying, researching, qualifying, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects.
  • Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Willingness and capability to travel both nationally and internationally.
  • A knack for organizational management excellence, showcasing the ability to foster and elevate high-performing teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and adeptly manage budgets.
  • Proven success in collaborating with Boards, showcasing the ability to cultivate and strengthen existing relationships with board members.
  • Robust experience in marketing and public relations, coupled with the skill to effectively engage a diverse array of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A business planning style that’s action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative in its approach.
  • Passionate, driven by a strong sense of mission, characterized by integrity, positivity, and the ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in working both independently and collaboratively within a remote, global team, adept at collaborating with diverse groups of people.
  • Experience working with confidential information.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools such as Teams and Outlook, along with experience in time tracking and project management tools.
