Job Purpose and Organizational Context
The incumbent will provide programme and operations support in implementation of AFG/F98 project as well as other activities of UNODC Information Centre for researching and analyzing transnational threats related to drugs and crime in the region.
Duties And Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision and policy guidance of the Head of Information Centre for researching and analysing transnational threats related to drugs and crime /SP-5 Coordinator, the incumbent will perform programmatic, administrative and financial support in line with UN/UNODC Rules and Regulations. Specifically, Programme Associate will be responsible to:
- Provide assistance in activities related to the management, implementation and monitoring of the project related activities;
- Maintain official correspondence, workflow processes, minutes of the meetings and other documentation pertaining to the project;
- Provide logistical and administrative support in organization and implementation of training courses, seminars, conferences, round tables, study tours and official meetings;
- Liaise with other UN agencies, national authorities, donor organizations and other partners participating in the project related activities;
- Ensure appropriate nominations and make respective arrangements for participants in training courses, meetings, study tours and other activities;
- Collect, register and maintain information on programme/project activities by reviewing reports, evaluation questionnaires and other information sources;
- Liaise with ROCA Programme Support Unit as and when required in administrative/financial/personnel matters;
- Provide assistance in developing technical specifications for procurement of specialized equipment purchased under the project;
- Monitoring the procurement process and ensuring timeliness and quality of supplied goods;
- Maintain filing and record keeping of all relevant documents of the programme/project;
- Perform other related duties as required in the scope of current position.
- Support development of work plans, periodic progress reports (quarterly, bi-annual and annual), background documents, monitoring reports and evaluations;
- Provide assistance in preparing, reviewing and consolidating the programme/project budget; monitor and control implementation of the programme/project budget; prepare briefing notes and other information materials on programme/project expenditures;

Education
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Law, Social or Political Science, or equivalent diploma.
Experience
- Minimum two years of progressively responsible administrative work closely related to support of programme/project activities, preferably in Government, international organizations or foreign commercial companies. Work experience in the projects related to terrorism prevention and countering is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English, Russian with excellent drafting skills. Knowledge of Uzbek language is an advantage.
Computer skills
- Excellent drafting skills for routine correspondence and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Others
- Knowledge of administrative procedures of the United Nations system would be desirable.
