Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Programme and Policy Department. You will provide cross-team support on managing and improving data management, programme risk and internal and external communications. Through your work with the departmental Director on KPI reporting, you will gain insight into how INGOs measure performance, improve programme quality and manage resources. The role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to build a strong base for professional development and a future career within the development sector.

The Programme and Policy Department is at the heart of CARE International UK’s work. The department works closely with CARE’s country offices around the world to deliver top-quality humanitarian and development work that helps to achieve CARE’s 2030 Vision and impact goals, in the areas of disaster relief, girls’ education and climate justice. This role will work across the department’s four teams (Programme Funding, Programme Management, Programme Quality and Advocacy) on a range of internal initiatives and projects, with the opportunity to understand humanitarian and development issues pertaining to a global portfolio.

About you
You’ll be a motivated and enthusiastic team player, with a passion for development and humanitarian work and committed to working with us to fight against poverty and injustice. Ideal candidates will demonstrate their interest through a previous role or voluntary experience within the sector, or through study/training. You will be organised, reliable, focused and have the ability to prioritise and work independently and with colleagues across teams. You’ll have a good level of competency with IT systems, data management and financial administration.
