Mission

In situations of armed conflict, Geneva Call, as a neutral, impartial and independent international humanitarian organization, endeavors to strengthen the respect of humanitarian norms and principles by armed non-State actors, in order to improve the protection of civilians, while supporting local communities in their efforts to enhance their own protection. Role

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Program/Support Assistant will contribute to the operations of Geneva Call in Afghanistan by following up on the field PRs and financial documents according to the Geneva call program/support policies and procedures. It is a national position and will contribute 50% work for the program team and 50% to the support team.

Core Responsibilities

The following up of the field PRs and field financial document for the approval (s) in accordance to the donor requirements and internal procedures:

I. Program related task

  • Weekly base collects the PRs from the provincial offices for the approval process and after approval shares the PRs with the field team.
  • Ensure copies of the approved PRs are kept in the Kabul office.
  • Contact the field team to revise the PR as per the senior management team’s feedback.
  • Support the program team with the necessary printing and copying of the documents.
  • Support the program team with other tasks requested by the program coordinator.

II. Support related tasks

  • Follow up with Finance on release of advances for field missions.
  • Follow up with field staff on settlement of advances.
  • Checking field expense reports. process the expense reports and getting relevant signatures.
  • Support field missions in travel related matters. Support in bookings of hotels, air tickets and transportations.
  • Delivery of stationaries and other materials to field locations.
  • Request periodic field assets list.
  • Be focal point for all provinces.

III. Other Duties

  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Main qualifications

Education and experience

  • Completed Degree of Higher Education in relevant fields such as business management and finance.
  • At least one year in a humanitarian/human rights/protection organization working in Afghanistan.
  • Experience with international organizations is preferred.

Technical skills

  • IT Tools (MS Office, Excel, email).
  • Experience in great team work.

Languages

  • Required: Excellent Dari and Pashto.
  • Good English is also necessary.

Personal skills

  • Understanding and respect for organizational principles, vision, mission and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a team and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent networking skills required.
  • Experience in conducting training and workshops.
  • Experience in writing reports.
