POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the establishment of MAP Program across three sites in Jordan. The Program S. Officer will support the overall implementation, quality assurance, and program planning across the 3 sites, in close coordination with the Program Manager. S/He will coordinate with the Program Manager the communication, planning, quality management, and overall implementation of the program.

The Program S. Officer also supports project implementation by conducting regular field visits to program sites, supporting line management in assessing program quality, monitoring and evaluation, and providing logistical and procurement support for the program overall.

The Program S. Officer is also responsible for the day-to-day management of the MAP program across three sites in Jordan. S/he will ensure the program is implemented to the highest possible degree of quality and efficiency. S/he will interact regularly with the program instructors embedded in various program locations, stakeholders, students, and military staff at each program location, and conducts program quality assurance on behalf of Amideast. The Program S. Officer also assists the Program Manager in the development of program reporting, assessment, and financial monitoring.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main duties in coordination with the Program Manager:

  • Oversees and coordinates quality assurance activities, including program and curricula reviews, assessment reviews, student achievement tracking, and timely reporting to the donor/partner
  • Collaborates closely with other Amideast departments, including regional experts, for support as needed
  • Conducts periodic site visits and quality assurance assessment of services held at the three sites and coordinates with the Program Manager on improvements in implementation and planning, if any
  • Supports local and regional Amideast program staff in data collection within program indicators and M&E scope
  • Coordinates classroom monitoring with instructors
  • Assists Amideast staff in preparing statistical and narrative reports about the program and results
  • Prepares program tracking sheets for attendance, performance, or any other required metric sheets for program and courses
  • Conducts background checks on prospective instructors
  • Prepares the required procurement documents in line with Amideast’s policies, procedures, and processes
  • Maintains accurate and up to date filing and records in compliance with program requirements
  • Communicates and coordinates frequently, accurately, and responsibly with Amideast’s office in Amman and regional program staff
  • Exhibits behavior and communications that reflect Amideast’s goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding
  • Follows Amideast’s standard operating procedures
  • Performs any other Amideast work-related duties requested by the Program Manager and/or Country Director, including supporting in the task load of other departments as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education, English language, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience including at least 2 years of English language training experience plus experience in training program administration
  • Previous experience in working on donor-funded programs is preferable
  • Knowledge of the American culture, education, and society is preferable
  • Knowledge of English language teaching methods and materials is a plus
  • Cultural exchange experience is preferable
  • Proficiency in English is C1 and above(CEFR Level Alignment)
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Native Speaker
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office
  • Must possess advanced interpersonal skills such as strategic thinking, time management, prioritizing responsibilities, problem-solving, cross-cultural understanding, conflict resolution, and excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

Up to 50% business travel inside Jordan may be needed to support the Program as needed.
