Program Officer, Digital Initiatives (Supplemental Position)

Job Overview:

The Program Officer, Digital Initiatives, is a temporary, supplemental position that will report to the Senior Program Officer, Communications, Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI), and work in coordination with RAI and IRC stakeholders to advance RAI’s digital footprint and impact. This position will support the development and application of digital technology and primarily external web-based initiatives, most specifically of which is a pilot client-facing web presence project. The Program Officer will meet and coordinate with specific RAI and IRC stakeholders and subject matter experts to support the implementation of timely RAI digital initiatives, ensure that digital solutions are integrated and viable, and support augmented digital literacy for staff and clients. This position supplements the permanent Program Officer, Digital Initiatives role and will last through September 29, 2023.

The Program Officer, Digital Initiatives, will play a key role in supporting this work through the development and design of digital initiatives via two main objectives: 1) assist in the scoping, discovery, design, buildout, and maintenance of a client-facing website in collaboration with the IRC Information Technology (IT) unit; 2) advocate for digital innovation that empowers RAI clients and produces long-term efficiencies for IRC staff.

Within the IRC, this position is part of the Research, Analysis, and Learning (RAL) team—a dynamic group of individuals who use technology, creativity, and innovation to expand the RAI department’s capacity to be more evidence-based and data-driven, ensuring learnings from our practice inform our work through informational and instructional design, and externally, influence the work of our sector and the wellbeing of our clients through training and technical assistance programs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Co-lead the planning, solution design, deployment, and measurement of digital initiatives for RAI staff and clients
  • As the RAI Digital Initiatives point-person, represent RAI in meetings and via email and digital communications relating to the pilot client-facing web presence project
  • Support RAI’s project management component of the pilot client-facing web presence project, including coordination and communication with the project’s core team and offices participating in the pilot
  • Write digital content for client facing website and for RescueNet pages.
  • Edit and create RescueNet pages
  • Stand as a proactive focal point between IT and RAI, and other key stakeholders as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS

  • At least five years of proven experience in project management

  • Experience with IRC’s RescueNet

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Solid organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines

  • Strong commitment to social service or humanitarian assistance programs and willingness to adhere to IRC’s code of conduct

  • Nonprofit background a plus

Working Environment:**

This position can be based at IRC’s headquarters in New York City or remotely within the United States.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirement.
