JOB PURPOSE:
The Program Officer will be involved in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities, project implementation, report writing, and community engagement among others.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collection of information from stakeholders.
- Provide support and oversee the day to day management of project field officers
- Write and submit periodic program reports and reviews to concerned parties.
- Plan, Prepare, coordinate and monitor the project activities.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly work plans and ensure their proper implementation.
- Lead step down training in the life of the project
- Represent the organization at key events, in the absence of the program manager.
- Share information among members of the network.
- Coordinate and manage project goals and objectives.
- Ensure the most efficient use of resources.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
- A first degree in any social science/medical science or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in programme development and management of project implementation with local NGOs or INGOs.
- Good resource planning, organisation and utilization skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English or any other local language.
- Excellent writing skills, editorial ability and pleasant personality.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications related to the tasks.
- Passion for communications and the internet.
- Ability to work in a team and sometimes meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to communicate with people outside the organization (donors, government and other external sources) and represent the organization during external briefings.
- Ability to create new ideas, relationships, and systems including creative contributions.
