The Program

The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, emergency preparedness and response and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards in Fiji and Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability and social inclusion, climate change and Disaster Risk Reduction, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.

Australia Awards is a prestigious international scholarships program funded by the Australian Government. The Facility supports the Australian High Commissions in Suva and Funatuti to manage the Australia Awards program in Fiji and Tuvalu.

The Position

The Program Manager Australia Awards Fiji and Tuvalu is responsible for the delivery of Australia Awards and related activities. The Program Manager will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure services are delivered on time and to high standards. The Program Manager will lead and manage a small team and will regularly review team performance, and continue to improve, innovate and evolve work practices.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in human resource development, capacity building, international development or education. They will have at least five years’ experience working in development programs within Fiji, ideally within the scholarships or human development sector. The successful candidate will have outstanding project management and delivery skills including project budget management, financial monitoring and reporting, excellent communication and relationships management skills and the ability to build and lead a cohesive and effective team. Familiarity with Australia Awards Programs would be an advantage.

Successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of their COVID-19 vaccination, in accordance with section 52D of the Health and Safety at Work (General Workplace Conditions) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

This position is locally engaged and reserved for National Citizens of Fiji. The annual salary will be between FJD 138,000 and FJD185,000, dependent upon the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
