Position Summary
Momentum Wheels for Humanity (MWH) seeks a Program Implementation Manager to manage the implementation of MWH’s international portfolio of projects focused on building and strengthening rehabilitation services, including assistive technology provision. The Program Implementation Manager will serve a key role supporting the Director of Programs, Implementation to manage workplan development and management, technical consultant management, stakeholder coordination, programmatic reporting & communications, and representation. The Programs Implementation Manager will be responsible for ensuring that programs are implemented in accordance with approved work plans and that they are responsive to identified needs and the strategic priorities of MWH and relevant donors. The position will require frequent communication with MWH staff across various departments, field office personnel, and consultants. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and detail oriented and have prior experience managing programs in the international development context.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the MWH Director of Program Implementation (DPI), the Program Implementation Manager will be responsible for performing the following primary tasks:
- Manage program implementation across MWH’s portfolio of international projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames
- In coordination with the DPI, coordinate internally to ensure adequate support is provided to field/program teams
- Support communication and information sharing between different programs and coordinate with DPI to synthesize and disseminate lessons learned to program teams, relevant stakeholders, and MWH management
- Continually monitor and evaluate program implementation to determine necessary adaptations needed to meet program goals and objective
- Review technical deliverables for quality and accordance to workplans
- Review and approve quarterly reports and responses to ad hoc information requests; draft or edit reports in part or in whole to ensure cohesiveness, responsiveness to guidelines or strategic priorities, and quality; ensure timely submission of donor and internal reports
- Support ongoing program development and design, including identification of needs; identification of donors, donor priorities, and donor opportunities; and program design
- Manage development of new project proposals or project modifications in collaboration with field teams, programs, development, and finance departments; contribute to proposal/modification writing, including compliance with donor regulations, and follow-up through the approval process
- Manage project kick-offs and project close-down
- Travel to project sites as needed to ensure that project objectives are being met and that headquarters is closely connected to field activities
- Engage in ongoing development of program department best practices and strategies to ensure consistently excellent service delivery
- Support the development and maintenance of relationships with donors, NGOs, local and international partners, and other relevant stakeholders as needed
- Represent Momentum in externally facing opportunities and events as relevant
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, such as Social Science, Business Administration, Global Health, or International Relations/Development; degree in a rehabilitation field a plus.
- At least 7 years of relevant project management experience in international development, with at least 2 years of experience at the field-level
- Experience implementing USAID-funded international programs, health sector experience a plus
- Ability to lead, mentor, and work well with international and HQ staff
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Proven ability to take initiative in finding solutions to complex challenges
- Proactive problem solver who is equally comfortable asking for help and finding a solution
- Positive attitude, personable, and committed to fostering a positive work environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Passionate about Momentum’s mission and values
- Native-level fluency in English
- Fluency in Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, or any other languages a plus
- Experience utilizing project management software such as Microsoft Project
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
Location: Flexible, based in the United States
Compensation: USD $75,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on experience
Compensation type: Salaried, exempt, paid bi-weekly
