We are seeking Programs Development Consultants, to join our roster of qualified candidates to allow RI to call on when required, the consultant will be able to provide interim support to RI programs throughout the year.

It is expected that the consultants will provide support remotely from home, and we are able to consider applicants who are homebased in the US, UK, and other RI country of operations. Full and part time availability will be considered.

Note you must have the right to work in your remote home-based location and national terms and conditions apply.

This role is classified as requiring standard background checks, if there is overseas travel required advanced checks will be required.

About the opportunity

You may be available to complete a specified period as per each assignment and will work corroboratively with the Program Development (PD) Team, Regional Directors, Country teams and with a direct senior-level reporting line to the Director of Program Development.

The Consultant deliverables will include developing a set number of concept notes and full proposals as well as refining proposal development trainings and materials.

Expected deliverables

  • Review and analyze call for proposals, ensuring it aligns with country teams design and suggest ways to adapt design to meet donor requirements.
  • Review current project documents (Proposal and Reports)
  • Lead design workshops with the Country Teams
  • Gather inputs from both Country Teams to inform project designs
  • Meet with relevant stakeholders (country team, RSO, Partners) necessary for the development of the applications
  • Lead drafting on proposal applications
  • Ensure Concept Notes, Proposals and Budgets are reviewed by TAD, RSO and GSO
  • Finalize Concepts ready for portal or email submission by Deadline
  • Edit and, as needed, design modules in PD training handbook and training modules.

About you

You will bring the following expertise and experience

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • MA in international development, business administration or other relevant field or equivalent.

  • Previous experience INGO context together with USAID is preferred

  • Relevant work experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility

  • Proven success in grant writing, networking and liaising with field and HQ staff when necessary

  • Proven knowledge of PRM Concept Notes and Proposals
