ROLE PURPOSE

The Program Coordinator is accountable for the effective and efficient management of Project ReAL (Remote Assessment of Learning) to ensure technical quality in program implementation, and to deliver positive outcomes for children and other project stakeholders. S/he is responsible for the technical oversight in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. The post holder will provide overall leadership in developing strategies to strengthen constituency building among children, families and community stakeholders to engage policy decision makers. This includes working on program resource packages and/or modules related to the objectives of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Solid background and expertise on basic education

  • Proven track record in managing projects

  • Proven experience in strategic and tactical planning. Critical thinking which is demonstrated by the ability to resolve program issues and integrate programs

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports

  • Familiarity with local governance processes and experience in working with LGUs and on civil society participation is preferred particularly in relation to gender-based violence and other gender issues

  • Experience in working with indigenous people’s (IP) communities is preferred

  • Experience in engaging duty bearers and facilitating child participation, use of child rights approaches, gender development and inclusion principles in development or humanitarian settings

  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of implementing participatory approaches in development / humanitarian work

  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethics particularly in timeliness (organizing and prioritizing) and quality in programming

  • Effective communication and facilitation skills demonstrated by skills and knowledge in using various tools in simplifying concepts and frameworks in communicating with a wide range of audiences related to the program including children

  • Resilience to stress, agility to abrupt changes and can multitask.

  • Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework

  • College degree on Education is desirable

  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, diplomacy and strong belief in personal commitment to gender equality and inclusion.
